Over the years, I’ve noticed that one of the biggest concerns that arises when planning a trip revolves around time. We’re constantly worrying that we won’t have enough of it, and this anxiety that time seems to cause will sometimes have us planning way too much.
This series was born out of the need to expel that anxiety and remind travelers that sometimes when we’re on holiday less is more. Planning trips, I myself was constantly overwhelmed by this same fear. It wasn’t until I changed the way I planned my trips, that I was able to rid myself of this feeling and get back to seeing the world the way I wanted to see it.
When I began challenging myself to plan just the right amount of activities that focused only on what I cared about doing, and stopped worrying about whether or not I’d have enough time to do all the top 20 must see things to do in whatever city listed in some post I found on the internet, I discovered a new way to travel. This discovery was life changing, and I couldn’t help but want to share it with the world.
I found that when you plan accordingly you can see any city in a matter of four days. This doesn’t mean doing everything and seeing all that the city has to offer. It’s much more of a focus on enjoying the attractions at your own pace, finding local eats and giving yourself time to wander down side streets to discover the things most tourists never get to see.
Simply put, 4 Perfect Days is a series of travel guides for cities all around the world that thoughtfully lay out the ground work for an unforgettable four day trip. I don’t write these posts until I plan the trip and experience it for myself so that I can give future travelers the inside scoop on the local life the city has to offer.
Overall, my goal with this series is to give you the inspiration you need to plan a trip that embodies your version of 4 perfect days. Take a look at the cities I’ve written about so far and check back frequently for updates, because this is really just the beginning. Happy planning!
I’ve traveled to a lot of places, but Barcelona will always have a special place in my heart. I still can’t believe it’s been three years since I lived in Barcelona. As a tribute to how much I appreciate and still love everything about this city, it was only right that I write an all-inclusive 4 day guide to navigating the city. In this guide you’ll find a synopsis of me re-living some of my favorite parts of the city, and sharing with you some of my favorite places to eat and hangout.
After traveling to the breath taking city of Florence twice in the same year, it only felt right to pass down all of my travel insight to future lovers of this city. In this guide you’ll find insider tips on the best way to see the city and beat the crowds as well as all the best places to eat authentic Italian food and drink like a local.
My first trip to France was definitely one for the books. Thanks to some already known local connections I had the time of my life, and I didn’t even see the Mona Lisa! This is the first post in the 4 Perfect Days series, and it truly embodies what this series is all about: creating a travel plan that works for you. In this guide you’ll find major insider tips, tons of local restaurants and some of the best nightlife that the 4th District has to offer.
